Kao, L’oréal and Natura was recognized as the best cosmetic companies from a position of doing business on the principles of ethics in 2020, according to the Ethisphere Institute.
Ethisphere Institute is an international research center dedicated to the development and dissemination of best practices in the field of business ethics and corporate social responsibility. Each year the organization compiles a list of the best companies in reviewing and evaluating organizations around the world in five categories: program of ethics and compliance, corporate citizenship and responsibility, culture of ethics, management, leadership and reputation.
Among the representatives of beauty-industry company Cao receives recognition for ethical business, since 2007, when he compiled the first list of World’s Most Ethical Companies. To date, the occurrence of a cosmetic manufacturer among world’s most ethical company became a performance indicator for governors.
Michitaka Sawada President and CEO Kao, in his speech said: “we are honored to be recognized as one of the most ethical companies in the world for 14 consecutive years. Last year the Kao Group announced a fundamentally new development strategy for ESG management (company management, focused on environmental protection and social values), which was implemented initiatives, according to which integrity is a core value of the Kao Way”.
As for L’oréal, the company for the 11th time became one of the most ethical organizations in the world, proving its commitment in managing the ethical aspects of doing business. Natura also confirmed its position in the list for the tenth time. This is the only Brazilian organization in the list of World’s Most Ethical Companies by 2020, consisting of 132 companies representing 21 countries.
“Our vision of ethics goes beyond compliance and legislation. It is a responsibility that permeates all levels of the company and our relationships with different audiences,” said joão Paulo Ferreira, CEO of Natura & Co in Latin America.
